Come Join Us for a Week of Fun
The Texas Chapter will be taking a road trip to the wide open spaces of the West Texas – Big Bend area. You can come and join the group for any number of days. You do not have to stay for the entire trip. Do what your schedule allows. The following is an abbreviated tour schedule to give you an idea of where we will be going.
Sunday 4/6/08 – 272 miles
The trip will start in Marathon, Texas at the Gage Hotel. The group will travel to the Big Bend National Park, drive the roads in the park, eat lunch at Chisos Mountains Lodge and return back to the Gage Hotel for the night.

Monday 4/7/08 – 247 miles
The drive will take us west through Alpine then south on Highway 118 “Mile High Higway” through Terlinqua & Lajitas then along the Rio Grande river to Presidio on to Shafter to Marfa. We will stay in Marfa at the Hotel Paisano.

Tuesday 4/8/08 – 97 miles
This drive will take us to the City of Fort Davis were we will take the scenic loop drive up, around and through the Davis Mountains. We will stop at the historic Fort Davis and the McDonald Observatory. We will stay at the Limpia Hotel in Fort Davis.

Wednesday 4/9/08 – 76miles
We will travel to Alpine to visit the Big Bend Museum. Spend time shopping in Alpine. We will visit the Luz de Estrella Winery & the Marfa Light Viewing Exhibit. We will stay at the Historic Holland Hotel in Alpine.

There are rooms reserved at each hotel, however they will be held only until February 1, 2008. The rooms are reserved for the NCRS-Texas Chapter
You do not have to stay at the hotels listed above. There are other hotels in each town besides the ones listed above The towns we are going to are very small and have limited hotel space so make your reservations now! The hotels listed above will be the place we will meet and leave from each day.

Places to stay Saturday night are: Marathon, Alpine or Fort Stockton. Alpine is a 25 mile drive and Fort Stockton is a 58 mile drive to Marathon.
